About Sustainable Travel International
Green.travel is brought to you as a public service by Sustainable Travel International (STI). Founded in 2002, STI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is dedicated to providing education and outreach services that help travelers (and travel providers) contribute to the environmental, socio-cultural, and economic well-being of the people and places they visit, and the planet at large.
STI's current priorities include the following:
- Develop, adopt, and market sustainable tourism standards and practices through Green.travel and the Sustainable Tourism Eco-Certification Program (STEP).
- Provide educational resources to travelers and travel providers, and assist them in making positive contributions to environmental conservation, cultural-heritage preservation, and local economic development.
- Support the implementation of greenhouse gas reduction strategies and the use of carbon offsets, enabling travelers and travel providers to offset unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions.
- Facilitate donations of financial resources, time, talent, and economic patronage to help travelers and travel providers protect and positively impact cultures and environments around the world.

Broaden your resume and work with like-minded individuals while helping to promote sustainable travel practices, conserve the environment, and contribute to the well-being of local communities through innovative programs and services.
Become an Intern
We are currently accepting applications for internship positions. Opportunities to get involved in many areas of the organization are available, including business and program development, marketing and public relations, sales and finance, and more.
